Abstract

Man is a social animal and he uses various mediums to express his feelings and thoughts. These mediums include genres like poetry, story, essay, report, diary, etc. ‘School diary’ is a technique that plays an important role in the academic and personal development of students. This technique is also used by schools to develop students’ activity management and organizational skills. ‘School diary’ helps in maintaining records of the teachings, planning schedules, and marking students’ progress, which helps students develop a sense of responsibility and time management. The Daily use of a ‘School diary’ also develops a sense of encouragement among students to participate actively in discipline, academic, and extracurricular activities. Will the use of school diaries be mandatory for all schools and all students at present? In The present research article researcher has observed the school diary of a class I student studying in a private school in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh (Academy, M). Thereafter, through the presented research study, the researcher has tried to explain the rationale of the school diary as well as highlight the benefits of the school diary.

    Ashish Kumar is currently pursuing  Ph.D. at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh under the supervision of Prof. Manoj Kumar Saxena. His research focuses on Nalanda University. He is a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and has actively participated in various seminars, workshops, and conferences, where he has presented research papers on diverse themes at several colleges and universities. Additionally, he has published research papers in reputed academic journals

    Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Saxena is presently working as Professor, Head & Dean, School of Education at Central University of Himachal Pradesh. At present he is also the Proctor of the University. His career spans for more than twenty seven years in Teaching, Research and Educational Administration. He has been a Member, Standing Expert Committee of University Grants Committee (UGC). He is also a Member of the committee constituted by the NCTE to finalize the curriculum framework and suggestive syllabi for NEP aligned ITEP(s) and 1-2 year B.Ed programme. He has successfully guided 01 Post-Doctoral Fellow and 10 Research Scholars for the award of Ph.D. degree. His own publications include 11 books, 123 research papers in journals of National and International repute. He is a Reviewer for the prestigious Journals of Sage and Springer Nature and also on the review panel of ICSSR, UGC, NCERT, MGNCRE etc.
    Apart from these academic ventures, he has been decorated as President’s Scout by His Excellency the President of India in 1988. He is Recipient of Rotary International’s Rotary Youth Leadership Award. He has been conferred with Excellent Teacher Award-2021 by Sociological Society Himachal Pradesh, Honorary Fellow by South Asian Institute for Advanced Research and Development, Kolkata, Best Teacher Award – 2022 by New Global Research Foundation, UP.
