National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), an organisation for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India, is an initiative of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) under the provisions of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, for creating a robust Payment & Settlement Infrastructure in India. Initially, there were ten promoter banks viz. State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Citibank and HSBC. In this paper, we made an attempt to study selected NPCI platforms namely BHIM, UPI, NACH, *99#, IMPS etc. The aim of the study is to know the growth of digital payments through various platforms. We analysed the past year's transactions and we found a drastic increase in digital payments and transactions. We applied t-tests to compare the transactions before and after Covid – 19 and found the changes in transactions before and after covid 19.
