Man is a social animal. Being a living in the society, he has to exchange ideas among himself. Sometimes a person expresses himself through words or sentences and sometimes through body parts. The intention is that a person can express his feelings through his five sense organs. By definition, language is the means through which we think and express our thoughts. The word language is derived from the Sanskrit root 'bhasha' which means 'to speak' or 'to say'. That is, language is that which is spoken. The definition of language by linguistic scientists can be understood in this way- According to 'Henry Sweet', "Language is the expression of ideas by phonetic words." 'Vandreye' writes- "Language is a kind of sign Symbol refers to those symbols by which man expresses his thoughts to others. These symbols are also of many types. Like eye-catching, auditory, and tactile." As a comprehensive and concise definition of language, 'Devendra Nath Sharma' expresses some such ideas - "Language is that system of random, stereotyped, pronounced signs through which human beings interact with each other. , cooperation or expression."
