Language plays an important role in the fabric of any society. India is a vast country; hence linguistic diversity naturally exists here. The rich and diverse tradition of languages in India and the variety of dialects, scripts and pronunciations we have here is undoubtedly a matter of pride. Literature expressed through various dialects and languages deserves to be called Indian literature in its larger dimension. In fact, various languages and dialects on one hand increase each other’s vocabulary and help in their prosperity and development, and on the other hand also increase cultural unity. Rich cultural linguistic heritage, vast vocabulary and diverse public base provide sufficient strength to Hindi. Therefore, the usefulness of mutual relations between Hindi and various regional languages and dialects is self-evident. Linguists consider India as a ‘linguistic area’. Comparative study of words and sounds of different languages and dialects not only makes us aware of the development and characteristics of those languages and dialects but also reveals the basic elements of cultural unity by analysing the various tendencies of human mind. The research paper titled Interrelationship between Chhattisgarhi, Bhatri and Odia reveals the interrelationship between these three. In fact, language not only has cultural importance, but it also plays a decisive role in maintaining the unity and integrity of the country.
